| So I know I'm a bad xanga updater person, and to you faithful xanga-ers, I apologize. I'm all settled here in CA now (hmmm... settled is a relative word) and I just wanted to say hey to everyone. The transition has been HARD, and I could really use all of your prayers. Thanks. Yea, not a very exciting post, but honest, I guess. I have gone surfing once and today I ate sushi, so that's exciting, I guess! Gotta run... | | |
| Leaving in just a few hours. Stressed out? YES! My car full of junk? YES! Excited? YES! Tired already? YES! Liking this font? YES! Ok, friends... I hope to post again once I'm all settled into my new place in CA! My first week of work is actually training for our new teachers that will be going to China, so I won't even be living in my apartment! I'll be in Palm Springs jumping in head first into my new job! I could definitely use your prayers, and I'll post again as soon as I can! Love ya'll! P.S. I just joined facebook (oh technology!) so if you're on it, add me! | | |
| Well, it's been good to be home. I've gotten to catch up with a few friends and speak at my church and just enjoy being here in Port Huron. I love Port Huron in the summer... roller-blading on the boardwalk by the river, playing my horn in park services on Sunday nights, sitting at the Raven coffee shop enjoying some yummy caffeinated beverage, attending church softball games (where I spend about 50% of my time gabbing with people and the other 50% playing catch with the kids... I never even know if we win!) I leave for CA tomorrow! I can't even believe the day is almost here already! My mom is going to help me pack up the car today, and then tomorrow Dawn and I leave after she gets out of work! Aah! We'll drive to Chicago and hang out there until Wednesday morning. Then we'll take 2 or 3 days to finish up the rest. There are all kinds of fun things to look forward to in the next few weeks... seeing my peeps in Chicago, speaking about China twice there, driving across the country with my sister, seeing Ryan (YAHOOEY!), a fun surprise for Dawn (sorry, I can't tell you yet), starting a new job, meeting my new roomie, going to a new fellowship... oh gosh, I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed! Anyway, I'll try to post once I'm settled in sunny CA! Please pray for Dawn and I as we drive throughout this next week. Thanks, friends! Peace... T | | |
| You know you live in a small town when... 1. You go through the bank drive-thru and the teller says, "Hi, Tanya. Are you home visiting your mom?" 2. You go out for icecream and the guy selling the icecream says, "Hey, Tanya! Welcome back from China! " 3. You run into someone you know (or more accurately, who knows you) everywhere you go! Yes, yes... these are true events. Oh, it's fun to be home! | | |
| Well, my friends, I am safely back in the Mei Guo (America), and now able to use my Xanga again! Sorry about the lack of postings. China blocked Xanga those last few months I was there. Anywho, just to update ya'll on my life: *I arrived back home on July 2 and will spend about 2 weeks here in good 'ol Port Huron with my family and friends! Woohoo! *I will embark on a roadtrip across the country with my sister on July 13. We'll spend a few days in Chicago on the way! Our final destination... San Dimas, CA (near L.A.)! This leads me to my next point... *I'm moving to CA!!! I was just recently offered (and accepted) a job with ELIC as a service counselor/recruiter. Basically, I'll get to travel around and talk about China to prospective teachers and walk with people through the process of inquiry to departure! I'm really pumped about this! I'll be living in San Dimas with a girl named Valerie and maybe another friend, Amy G. Gosh, I think that's all the big news in my life for now! My last few months in China were memorable and wonderful! I already miss it like crazy. I have soooo many stories to tell, so if ever we're in the same place at the same time, we should do coffee! You're all welcome to visit me in CA anytime! Peace... T P.S. I created a new blog in China while Xanga was being blocked. It's blogspot. My name is tanya-sue-hedberg. I think you can go to www.blogspot.com/tanya-sue-hedberg. Anyway, check it out if you'd like. There are just a handful of posts. I haven't yet decided which one I'm going to continue writing in, but I'll let you know. Oh, and HAPPY 4th!!! | | |
